Wednesday September 13th

A busy morning this morning. Fergal, Kev and Ally are all in Ireland with ‘Viva Steve’ who runs in the Kerry National at 4:05. Paddy takes the ride. We wish Paul and Clare Rooney the very best of luck.

Kev with his favourite ‘Viva Steve’.

I am taking the 2 runners to Uttoxeter.

‘Iniesta’ runs in a handicap hurdle at 3:00. David Bass rides. He ran a blinder in his first hurdle run for us at Newton Abbot but the trip was a bit short and it caught him out coming to the last and an awkward jump meant he was passed on the run to the line. The longer trip will suit better today and we just hope for another solid run.

‘Iniesta’ schooling with today’s Jockey David Bass.

We then have ‘River Of Intrigue’ running at 4:00. He is in good form and we hope that the new headgear makes an impact on him today as he has the ability to run a big race. Alain rides.
We had a good work morning at the yard this morning. The Biddestone Stud Partnership came to see their 4 year old Gelding by ‘Beneficial’. He doesn’t have a name yet but that is the next thing that the Partnership have to decide on!! Is the first time that some of the group have been to the yard so we had a nice time on the gallops followed by breakfast at the Black Horse Pub in our local village.

Sarah came to see ‘Blue Comet’ who she bred and ‘Blue Merlin’ who she foaled and looked after until he came into training.
This is ‘Blue Merlin’ with from the left Phil, Alice, Sarah and Henry. He s going really well and will hopefully be ready for a bumper in mid October.

No runners tomorrow.
Thanks for reading.
