Thursday May 17th

A Fantastic first day of our Perth trip.

A double and a 4th!!!!

Our first runner and winner was ‘Quantum of Solace’. She was a tad disappointing in her first run for us at Southwell but it was after a very long lay off due to injury and she gave Paddy a nice feel so this race looked perfect for her. She travelled really well throughout the race and cruised to the front 2 out. She should have a good summer off a workable mark.

The Stunning ‘Quantum of Solace’ in the paddock before the race.

‘Quantum of Solace’ in the winners spot ridden by Paddy and led up by Abbie.

‘Benechenko’ then ran another solid race to come 4th in the 3 mile handicap hurdle ridden by Brodie. He has been consistent all season and now looks forward to starting his chasing career in the Autumn.

We then finished on another winner as the gallant 14 year old ‘Creevytennant’ won the Hunters chase by a head under Lilly Pinchin. The pair won this race a year ago and I did say yesterday that we would try our best to take the trophy home for the 2nd year running and we have it!!!

The amazing ‘Creevytennant’ given a great ride by Lilly.

Lilly receiving her prize and the lovely fox trophy!!!

‘Imperial Elixir’ ran a much improved race to come 5th in the Bumper at Newton Abbot so he is going in the right direction.

Today ‘Blue Comet’ makes his Chase debut in the 3 mile Novice Chase at Perth at 2:30. He finished last season winning his last 3 over hurdles and he has always looked destined for fences. He is in great form and we just hope for a safe round today and then he will have a big summer ahead.

Abbie gave ‘Blue Comet’ a leg stretch this morning ready for his race.

3 runners tomorrow at Aintree. ‘Diamond Fort’, ‘Winter Lion’ and ‘Risky Gold’ are all Declared.

Thanks for reading.
