Sunday December 9th

A solid weekend with our winner coming Friday at Sedgefield.

‘Champagne Well’ showed a great attitude to battle to the line nose to nose with the favourite. His experience probably helped in the last furling as he started to get on top and won by a length in the end. A great ride by Connor!!

‘Champagne Well’ winning his first race for ‘The Bolly Champagne Crew’ with Abbie and Nicko in the winners enclosure.

‘Socksy’ also ran a blinder at Sedgefield on Friday to come a good 2nd for owner Cedric Brookes. Also ridden by Connor.

‘Mercy Mercy Me’ showed big promise after a good 3rd in the Grade 2 at Sandown so we hope he could win a novice before too long.

Yesterday I went to Chepstow where ‘Good and Hardy’ made a solid start to his jumping career. He was a neck from 3rd in a Conditional Jockeys Novice hurdle over 2m7. Harry Reed rode him and he showed real staying power.

the dude ‘Good and Hardy’ led up by Katie with owners Pete and Janice in the winners enclosure.

‘Sharpers Rifles’ made his racecourse debut in the Bumper. He didn’t get a place but he behaved brilliantly and will have another shot in the next 3-4 weeks.

Connections in the paddock with Leighton Aspel.

The lovely ‘Sharpes Rifles’

Today we have a real yard favourite running. ‘Perfect Candidate’ runs in the 2:10 which is a Veterans Chase over 2m6. Connor rides him for Geoff and Donna Keeys. He is a real Cheltenham specialist so we hope he can show some form at Kelso!!!

The legend ‘Perfect Candidate’ after his Cheltenham win last season ridden by Paddy and led up by Jacob.

One runner tomorrow. ‘Jenny’s Surprise’ makes her seasonal debut in a veterans chase at Lingfield. She should love the heavy ground and we are hoping for a good round from her. Paddy rides.

Thanks for reading.
