Saturday November 3rd

A busy day of jump racing across the country which just confirms the Winter season is well underway.

We are just heading up to Wetherby with our only runner ‘Oscar Rose’. Paddy rides her in a mares listed hurdle at 2:05. She won nicely at Worcester 2 weeks ago and deserves her chance today while the ground is still on the quicker side which she loves. We hope she runs a big race for owners Martin Rice and Karen & Tony Exall.

The beautiful mare ‘Oscar Rose’ looking very pleased with herself after winning comfortably at Worcester.

Yesterday we had a good day at Wetherby.

‘Ballyhome’ made a winning debut for us in the Conditional Jockeys hurdle. Connor gave him a lovely positive ride and forged clear coming to the 2nd last. He responded well and won going away.

Shannon leading in Connor and ‘Ballyhome’ to the winners enclosure.

‘Poetic Rhythm’ held on for 2nd in the Novice Chase. His jumping got more and more deliberate as the race went on. He has always had a tendency to go left handed but it got worse the further he went so he did really well to come 2nd and he is fine this morning. We will go back to the drawing board with him. He will always be our first Grade 1 winner and nothing can take that away from him.

The gorgeous ‘Poetic Rhythm’ will always be a very special horse to team FOB.

One runner tomorrow at Huntingdon. ‘Saturdaynightfever’ makes his debut over hurdles for owner Malcolm Denmark. Noel Fehily rides.

Thanks for reading.
