Saturday January 6th

A very exciting day ahead.

We have had to split up to go to 2 places as you could expect with 2 of our best horses running in 2 different areas of the country.

Fergal has travelled west to Chepstow to saddle ‘Chase the Spud’ in the Welsh National and we run ‘Socksy’ in an earlier race. ‘Socksy’ is in a spot on race for her and she has a lovely weight over the trip. She won last time out at Ayr and we hope she goes close again today.

‘Chase the Spud’ is in the form of his life and bids to add the Welsh National to his Midlands National win. He will love the ground but with 20 horses running it is very competitive indeed.

‘Chase the Spud’ being led into the winners enclosure after his win last time out at Haydock.

….Fergal, Owner Christine Banks, ‘Chase the Spud’ and Tori all posing with the Midlands National trophy.

I am heading to Sandown where another stable star ‘Perfect Candidate’ runs in the Veterans Handicap Chase final at 3:00. He qualified when he won a veterans race at Exeter in February 2017 and since he has won in great style at Cheltenham at the November meeting putting him in great form for today. He carries a lot of weight but that hasn’t stopped him in the past so we keep our fingers crossed for all of our runners today.

The Gorgeous ‘Perfect Candidate’ winning at Cheltenham in similar conditions to today.

No runners tomorrow.

Thanks for reading.
