Saturday April 14th

Grand National day looms and it’s a lovely temperature for the horses to put in maximum effort in such a huge test.

‘Chase The Spud’ and ‘Perfect Candidate’ have had great preparations for the historic race and we wish Paddy and Alain all the luck today.

‘Perfect Candidate’ after his Cheltenham win this season.

‘Chase the Spud’ showing off his Midlands National trophy.

‘Aye Aye Charlie’ is our first runner at 2:25. Paddy rides him in a Grade 1 Novice Hurdle. He has been running well all season in this company so we hope he can do the same today before his summer holidays.

Our last runner of the day is in the bumper at Chepstow at 6:05!! ‘Good And Hardy’ makes his debut for us after we purchased him from the Cheltenham Sales for owner Pete Smith. He goes well at home and he should handle the ground so we hope he shows what he is made of today.

‘Good And Hardy’ the day we bought him.

Yesterday’s runners are all fine this morning.

‘Coolanly’ ran a blinder to be a very close 5th in the Grade 1 Novice Hurdle. Paddy took his time and did his best work in the closing stages only missing out on 4th by a neck!!!

The lovely ‘Coolanly’ led up by Tori.

The ground was too soft for ‘Mystifiable’ but he jumped the National fences really well as we predicted.

The stunning ‘Mystifiable’ in the Paddock led up by Kev.

Easy to see ‘Mystifiable’ in this pic. The only grey in shot.

‘Mercy Mercy Me’ didn’t disgrace himself but couldn’t quicken on the ground so he will now focus on a hurdling career but he looked amazing in the paddock and was beautifully turned out by Molly who looks after him.

‘Indian Reel’ runs tomorrow at Plumpton ridden by Lilly and the 2 racing Ponies have their 2nd runs at Andoversford.

Thanks for reading.
