New Year’s Eve 2017
A fantastic end to 2017 as ‘Poetic Rhythm’ answered our prayers and gave us our first ever Grade 1 yesterday winning the Challow Hurdle at Newbury.
The pace was strong which made it a gruelling test of guts and determination at the end. Thankfully ‘Poetic Rhythm’ possesses those 2 things in abundance!!!
He had a big battle on his hands to beat ‘Mulcahys Hill’ who kicked early and got a big advantage on the field turning into the home straight but we flagged him down and kept his late challenge at bay to win by a short head. Paddy rode him superbly and it was very fitting that we won it for our loyal owner Chris Coley and the ‘Yes No Wait Sorries’. Chris has been supporting Fergal since he took out his Trainers licence and the Partnership have never looked back.
‘Poetic Rhythm’ with Tori and Fergal just about to leave the stables before the race with great hopes ahead.
…And being led back into the winners enclosure after winning the Betfred Challow Grade 1 novices hurdle.
Today we have ‘Indian Reel’ and ‘Shines Bar’ running at Warwick. They both run in the same race at 3:10 which is a novice handicap hurdle. Both have been a bit disappointing so we hope we see more off them today.
‘No Dice’ is our other runner today at Uttoxeter. Today is his debut for us and he is a lovely horse who goes very well at home. We are still learning about him so we hope conditions suit him today. Paddy rides him for owner Malcolm Denmark.
Tomorrow on New Years Day we have 3 runners at Cheltenham. ‘Aye Aye Charlie’ runs in a novice hurdle, ‘Colin’s Sister’ runs in the Relkeel Hurdle and ‘Feel The Pinch’ makes his racecourse debut in the bumper.
Have a great night tonight and enjoy New Years Eve.
