Monday December 4th

A lot to catch up on. My phone had a holiday in Wetherby and it has only just been returned to me in the post by a very nice man who works for the racecourse called ‘Colin’. I dropped it in the rush to saddle our winning mare ‘Belle Amis’ as we had 2 consecutive runners!!! Thankfully a good person found it and returned it.

‘Belle Amis’ impressed on Wednesday winning first time out on the track in a mares bumper.

‘Lovely Job’ made it 40 jumps winners for the season when he won at Taunton on Thursday. Given a great ride by Noel Fehily he made most of the running to win well.

The gorgeous ‘Lovely Job’ schooling at home.

We weren’t disappointed with our top mates on Friday and Saturday. ‘Colin’s Sister’ was 4th in a top class Grade 2 on Friday at Newbury. She wasn’t far behind some big names and finished ahead of ‘Thistlecrack’ so we were really proud of her.

‘Cap Soleil’ ran another blinder in a Listed Mares hurdle on Saturday and just needed the ground to be softer to show her true colours. A 2nd to add to her 4 wins is no disgrace.

‘Coolanly’ was very pleasing yesterday. He looked to have the race in his grasp but a mistake at the last cost him the race. It was a very solid run and he will improve for the experience over hurdles.

The gutsy ‘Coolanly’ with connections when he won his bumper at Chepstow.

We don’t have any runners today or tomorrow but we are back to it on Wednesday.

We had a good schooling morning this morning. Horses are looking in fab form for their up and coming races.

Johnny schooling ‘Viva Steve’ ready for the Becher Chase on Saturday over the grand national fences.

Alain taking a flyer on ‘Benechenko’ who runs Saturday at Chepstow.

Paddy taking a flyer on ‘Mystifiable’ who runs in the Grand Sefton on Saturday also over the grand national fences.

Thanks for reading.
