Friday March 30th

Happy Good Friday to everyone. Life carries on as normal in the racing world and we had a nice morning at the yard with some weekend riders coming in to ride out on their Friday off which is a great help to us. Also Fern, Kaitlin and Amity are all on their school holidays so we had the pleasure of those 3 extra helpers too!!!

We have hit the crossbar a bit at the races this week but it means that the horses are running consistently well and that is important to us. The winners will come!!

‘Ocean Cove’ ran another cracker at Warwick on Wednesday missing out by less than a length!! That is 4 races this season all 2nd and 3rds!! He was 3rd in his Irish Point to Point last season so that makes all his career starts in the first 3. It was also another place for the FOB Racing Partnerships who have all enjoyed a whole season in the winners enclosure!!! An amazing stat!!!

The ultra consistent ‘Ocean Cove’.

‘Minella Scamp’ was a solid 4th. He was trying 3 miles for the first time and may want to drop back slightly in trip to be at his best.

Yesterday ‘Smooth Operator’ had a spin on the all weather at Chelmsford and ran a very respectable race to come 3rd after being off the track for 5 months. He is waiting for better ground over hurdles and will continue to have some more races on the flat while we wait for the rain to stop!!!!

No runners today but an exciting weekend ahead. It’s girl power again!!!

‘Socksy’ runs tomorrow at Haydock in a Mares Handicap Chase final over 2m6.

‘Socksy’ after he won at Ayr at the start of this winter season.

‘Jenny’s Surprise’ runs Sunday at Ffos Las in a staying Handicap Chase over 3m4!!

Fern on the angel ‘Jenny’s Surprise’ looking to make it 3 wins for the season on Sunday for Foxtrot Racing.

Mark and H came to see ‘Ask Dillon’ this morning. They are new owners and we purchased ‘Ask Dillon’ at the Cheltenham sales for them. We are planning to run him in a bumper in the next 3 weeks. He is a lovely horse and one that will benefit from a summer break to fill out.

Pete also joined us to see his new lad ‘Good and Hardy’ who we purchased for him at the same sales. He will also run in a bumper in the next 3 weeks. He really lives up to his name and seems a very tough character.

I haven’t done a staff profile for a few weeks so this week I introduce you to another fairly new member of staff Katie-

Katie with ‘Soldier Of Love’.

Name- Katie Sinclair

Age- 17 (18 next Tuesday she reminded me!!)

Born- Northern Ireland.

Katie joined us last September. Her dad has a military career so Katie grew up on Military camps all over Northern Ireland, England and Germany. She started riding at 13 near Reading. Her Racing interest started when she started a job in Wales for Peter Bowen. She enjoyed a year and a half there before joining us with her boyfriend Simon who started at the same time. Katie has had 1 Point to Point ride so far and hopes to gain more experience before the season ends

Tell us one thing that no one else would know about you- ‘I used to be a good 2000m runner at County level when I was at School’

Thanks for reading.
